Sundance Film Festival – Days 1 & 2

So I don’t throw all of the films I’m watching at Sundance on you all at once, I’m breaking it up into smaller chunks for you all to digest. Also, so I can elaborate a little bit more than just a line or two. So far, some pretty strong entries from my list!

Weekend Movie Review

I made a valiant effort this weekend to squeeze in a couple of movies a day, and was almost as successful as I was hoping to be. Sadly, sleep got the better of me last night and I only made it through 30 minutes of The Tender Bar. Look out for that next weekend. In the meantime, check out what made the cut!

Fan Art Friday: Sebastian Stan

This week’s fan art Friday could also be considered a flashback Friday, as well, considering I posted this drawing not even a year ago. However, I felt the need to post it again because of Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier coming out today! Sebastian Stan is the only member of the core cast that I’ve drawn, so I’m afraid that’s all you’re getting…for now! I haven’t watched the show yet, but it’s definitely on my radar for tonight. The Devil All the Time Movie Review

Towards the start of quarantine, I went out of my way to hunt down Donald Ray Pollock’s gothic hillbilly novel, The Devil All the Time, only after learning that it was being adapted into a feature film for Netflix. I really enjoyed it! Not only did it take place in my home state, but it also was graphic and violent. There was such an intricate and desolate web woven between all of these characters that really sucked me in.

Weekend Movie Review – Rewind

After watching zero movies last week, I had to rectify that situation and watch a couple this past weekend. To be fair, I am in the process of watching both seasons of Stranger Things in anticipation of the third season’s premiere July 4th. So that is my excuse for slacking. Also, there really weren’t any movies I was too keen on seeing in the theaters (sorry, Toy Story 4). With that, I decided to see what was available to rent and what I’ve been missing on Netflix.

Movie Review: We Have Always Lived in the Castle

As a fan of all Daddario and Farmiga siblings, and Sebastian Stan’s face, I decided to watch We Have Always Lived in the Castle last night. Adapted from Shirley Jackson’s 1962 mystery novel of the same name, this film wasn’t necessarily mysterious based on today’s standards, but it was certainly eerie. Mainly because lead, Merricat (Taissa Farmiga), is quite odd and very succinct in her actions and vocabulary.
