We’re nearing the end of Abigail Roux’s series featuring Ty Grady and Zane Garrett, and I’m kind of sad about it!

Book Review: Stars & Stripes by Abigail Roux
As I’ve said so many times now, the Ty Grady-Zane Garrett series by Abigail Roux is one of my favorite things this year! Is it the best series I’ve ever read? No, probably not, but it succeeds at sucking me into their world so wholly that I can’t help but put this near the top of my list. Stars & Stripes is no different.

I think I’ve said this since reading the first book, but I cannot get enough of this Zane Garett and Ty Grady series by Abigail Roux. While she did collaborate on the first three novels with Madeleine Urban, Armed & Dangerous was her first outing alone.

Now that I’ve found the Cut & Run series, I cannot stop. And thankfully, Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux have plenty more novels for me to devour! Heck, Divide & Conquer is only the fourth of nine! And that’s not including two novellas! I’m excited.

Once I decided to keep going with this Ty Grady and Zane Garrett series, I finally decided to look up how many books actually make this up. It’s a whopping nine novels! That’s so great! Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux have somehow managed to work so seamlessly together to create entertaining and flowing stories that I can’t wait to keep reading.

I’m not that surprised with how quickly I got my hands on the second novel in Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ The Naturals series. I am though, surprised that it took me as long as it did to finish it.

Apparently, I am really bad at determining if a book is part of a series just from reading the blurb on the back. For instance, I had no clue that Right Behind You was the seventh of eight novels written by Lisa Gardener to feature the characters Quincy and Rainie.

I…think I’m kind of over the whole You universe brought to us by Caroline Kepnes. It’s in that weird stage now where the show is a season ahead and not at all what the latest novel, For You and Only You, was about. Granted, I have no clue what Kepnes’ involvement with the show is and I realize that most adaptations don’t follow the source material closely at all, but still. It’s odd.

I certainly appreciate McManus giving us all a roster of important players in her third novel for the One of Us is Lying series. It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since the last installment came out, but then there was also a television series introduced to muddy the waters a little bit. No fear though, if you were a fan of the first two novels, then One of Us is Back will be easy to pick up on right away.

Sometimes you win with bargain book purchases, but sometimes you find mediocre ones. This was one of those times. Again, I’m not saying anything was outright bad with Sara Blaedel’s novel, The Midnight Witness, but I’d say if you ask me next month what this was about I couldn’t tell you much of anything.
