Though the name Dead Boys Detectives has a super corny ring to it, that was exactly what brought my attention to this show.

Wolf Like Me – Season 2 Review
I’ll be totally honest with you guys. I fully forgot about this show until a few weeks ago when Peacock had it popped up on the home screen with “new season” beside it. Though only a year and a half has passed between seasons of Wolf Like Me, I really had to wrack my brain to remember what happened.

It was another week in a different state this month, so that means I didn’t have an excess of time to dedicate to movies, but there were still a couple that I made count.

I can’t believe it’s the final season of Servant! This insanely intriguing show is some of M. Night Shyamalan’s best work, and it delivered right to the end.

Sigh. I so very much wanted to love this new series in the Anne Rice-verse, just like I did with Interview with the Vampire, but Mayfair Witches just didn’t quite live up to that first series.

I believe I bought this book on a discounted whim probably over a year ago. In an effort to work through books I own, Katie Moretti’s Girls of Brackenhill intrigued me the most on my shelf.

Admittedly, this list is going to contain some end of 2022 films, but the bulk were watched in those first two days of 2023. Pretty decent choices if I do say so myself!

Now, for those that do not have AMC+, there will be SPOILERS ahead for the first season of the televised adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
There, now that you’ve been sufficiently warned, let’s get into it. Of course, I will be making comparisons to the 1994 film of the same name I only recently watched, but you’ll have to wait for me to actually read the book before I can compare the show to its source material. Regardless, it does seem that both critics and fans of the novels were also big fans of this series. I, myself, was also quite intrigued with this series and frankly I’m bummed that I now have to wait god knows how long for the second season (already renewed, by the way). Oh well, let’s talk about what went down.

New Riley Sager!! I’d be so happy if this guy manages to pump out a new book every year, mainly because they’ve all been thoroughly enjoyable. And honestly, I’m a little surprised I’m saying that about his newest release, The House Across the Lake, but you’ll just have to keep reading to find out why. And on that note, just know there are some SPOILERS ahead.

It took maybe the first ten seconds of the trailer for The Black Phone to convince me that I was going to see it. Now, that was supposed to be in January, but things happen and here we are now in June. Regardless, I definitely found the film worth the wait, and then I purposely waited to read the short story until I saw the film. As I’ve said before, the written word will always be good whether I read it before or after. The outcome for film or television adaptations varies, and typically not in the best way.
