Apologies for my lack of urgency with watching this new ABC series, Big Sky, but I did eventually and it was worth the wait! This crime drama is based off a novel called The Highway written by C.J. Box and follows private detectives with messy and entwined personal lives as they try and find missing girls kidnapped on a remote highway in Montana. Just so you know, there will be some serious SPOILERS ahead, so beware.

Fan Art Friday: Marilyn Manson
I realize it’s technically Saturday, but you’ll just have to deal with this late fan art of the very talented Marilyn Manson! He posted this photo a month or so ago and I thought it looked cool enough to recreate!

Now that Halloween has been over for several weeks, it’s been easier for me to get my hands on some spooky novels! Also, ever since reading and watching the biographical but largely fictional, Shirley, I’ve found myself more interested in reading her works. I figured what better way to start than with her very popular, The Haunting of Hill House. Selfishly, I also chose to read this because I want to watch the series, but I have been too afraid to do so. I figure if I give it a read first it might calm my nerves about eventually watching it.

Unfortunately, the second season of Showtime’s Kidding is its last and I am bummed because the second season was a very entertaining ride. Luckily, that first season cliffhanger is right where the action picks up in the second, and we get to see this group of people seemingly further upend their lives.

I think that title tells you what you’re about to read here, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, my reaction will not be all too different from the critics who have already seen these films. The other day, Netflix released Hillbilly Elegy, which was adapted from the memoir of the same name by J.D. Vance. The very next day, Hulu released the holiday romantic comedy, Happiest Season. Based on that very limited information, I’m sure your assumptions of what was good and what was bad is actually wrong!

Some new, some old, some new to me…a cornucopia of films this weekend! I’d say I’ve primed myself nicely for this holiday weekend’s viewing standards.

It’s the penultimate episode of this fourth installment of Fargo, and I’m really excited to see how it all plays out. After a cool and creative deviation last week, this week reverts back to the storylines we’re used to and plays out a string of events so delicious I might as well have been salivating while watching the episode.

What a strange, strange comedy Kidding was. This two-season show starring Jim Carrey had me confused from start to finish. I recognize it was more of a dark comedy, but even the premise had me feeling sort of out of body. It probably also didn’t help that it took place in Ohio. Strange.

I love this drawing because it’s part self-portrait, part contest submission. Motionless in White had an album cover contest for Graveyard Shift and I knew I had to enter! Although I didn’t win, I was still really proud with how the final product turned out.

A concert of epic proportions! Also, I was supposed to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a third time back in May until the rona took away all the nice things! I digress, as I can look back at those other two times fondly and share what the experience was like.
