Ever since seeing Stoker for the first time last year, I had determined that Matthew Goode is perhaps one of the best looking men on this planet. Everything I’ve seen him in since, or reflected on seeing him in only confirmed this. Also, I’d be willing to bet all the fans of A Discovery of Witches would agree with me on that title! Anyway, I wanted to pick a scene from that film and ended up with this pick! Enjoy!

Frank of Ireland – Season 1
If it’s a comedy and it’s got Domhnall Gleeson? Count me in!
Read moreBook Review: The Push by Ashley Audrain
My mother has been subscribing to People magazine even longer than I’ve been alive, so along with the the novel Girl A, Ashley Audrain’s novel The Push was featured in the same week. I love a book that sounds eerie and potentially thrilling, and that’s just what the brief reviews in the magazine provided me! I was sold and quickly got my name on the wait list for them.

It’s still really the beginning of the week, so that means it’s time to recap the three dramas I’ve got on rotation for the spring 2021 television season!

This weekend’s movie selections really got me out of my comfort zone! I started off watching something from a director I admire and then got led down a path of really interesting choices. But I wasn’t mad about it! Let’s review!
Read moreThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier
When you’re coming off the creativity that is WandaVision after a year of no Marvel activity? That’s a hard standard to live up to! Not that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was a disappointment. Far from it, in fact, but it just didn’t grab me as much as its television predecessor.

Well, aside from just briefly talking about the actual winners and losers of this years Academy Awards, I’ll also be highlighting the evening’s strangest moments, surprise wins and snubs, and overall if it was worth the wait!

I am a fool! It’s been way too long for me to not have realized that the recently reunited Foxy Shazam had put out a new album in December! Burn is the first release from the band since their hiatus in 2015, and I really should have been more on top of this. The only thing I really saw anything about was a reunion show that got cancelled twice ( because, you know, pandemic) and the release of the single “Burn.” Well, better late than never I suppose! Burn was a delight to listen to all the way through, and now I really can’t wait for this pandemic to be over so I can see them live again!

It’s getting down to the wire folks! Usually, the Film Independent Spirit Awards takes place the afternoon before the Oscars, but in this unprecedented time of a pandemic, they switched their usual plan of attack by airing in a prime time slot during the week (a Thursday to be exact). Hey, I don’t care when they air, I promise I’ll be there to watch it. Normally, I would not be catching the Spirit Awards until after the fact, but this year, yours truly was a voting member, so I had to tune in!
Read moreFan Art Friday: Elizabeth Banks
It was already one in the morning before I realized Friday had already come and gone. Sigh. I swear to you at some point I’ll be more consistent with posting fan art on Fridays. But for now, you just have to deal with me being a day late. There is reason to rejoice though! Early last week I finally finished my drawing of Elizabeth Banks! Saturday Night Live is responsible for many iconic bumpers, but Banks has crystal clear blue eyes that sort of makes it hard for her to take even just a mediocre photo. I loved this one when I saw it when she hosted a few years back, and then I realized that I’d never drawn her before! That’s shameful, given how many things I’ve seen her in. My recommendations from her filmography are Brightburn, Wet Hot American Summer (film and television show), and Love & Mercy!
