Book Review: The Woman Inside by E.G. Scott

I’ve been a bit behind on the reading front…at least the reviewing of it anyways. A few weeks ago I finished the twisty thriller, The Woman Inside, written by a pair of authors using the pen name of E.G. Scott. If you’ve liked thrillers like Gone Girl, Woman in the Window, or Girl on the Train, then I’d say you’ll really enjoy this pair’s debut novel.

Told in alternating, but almost equally unreliable, perspectives, this thriller follows married couple, Rebecca and Paul. The novel starts with hesitation and paranoia from Rebecca, who has very obviously been taking advantage of her career as a pharmaceutical rep, towards her husband. Paul on the other hand, exudes pompous confidence without a care in the world really. But both of them have something to be worried about, something they did together. A really bad thing they did together, and it gets harder and harder to know who is telling the truth as the chapters churn on. Some missing women, affairs, booze, and drugs make this a page-turner for sure, and I know I certainly did not see that ending coming!

Here’s hoping this pair keep making novels like this, because I’ll read them as soon as they come out! Already picked up to become a limited series, I literally can’t wait to see this adapted to the screen, and I know Blumhouse will do the book justice!
