I have just been devouring Hannibal episodes like it’s my job (it’s not) and I couldn’t be more happy with how the story is progressing! In a much shorter amount of time, I have finished the second season and I am fully anticipating the third and final season and what that will bring. Because a lot of stuff went down in this batch of thirteen episodes. SO. MUCH. BETRAYAL.

The Boys Review
I’m finally starting to use Amazon Prime Video to its full potential (in my opinion), so with that I’ve just finished the freshman season of the gritty graphic novel adaptation of The Boys. Aside from it being gritty, it is also vulgar, bloody, and violent. Three of my favorite things! This show is not for the flowery faint of heart folks. This show packs a punch in the most fun way!

Okay, Quibi. I stand corrected. You did not totally disappoint me because I was fooled into thinking The Stranger was all but over after seven measly episodes, when in fact there were another six that aired! That’s right. Thirteen total episodes to tell the story. Where did we leave off?

As one show ends, another soldiers on. The show ending its season of course, is Prodigal Son. Will it get picked up for another? That remains to be seen. I will say, it was an impressive end, given how shaky I’ve felt about the second half of the season. Let’s dig in to both Roswell, New Mexico and Prodigal Son.

For the last several years I’ve had the show Hannibal on my radar. For whatever reason, I never really heard of or watched this show during its three season run on NBC, and that makes me a little sad. Sad in the way that I was bummed I never experienced it live, and really bummed that it only lasted three seasons. Even though I’ve only just finished the first season’s thirteen episodes, they’ve been really amazing!

Prodigal Son is back! And Roswell, New Mexico just keeps getting crazier. With so many shows ending or on hiatus, I’ve come to really enjoy my Monday night television.

Okay, I might be four months late, but I finally sat down and watched the second season of You! Now a while back I reviewed the second novel, Hidden Bodies, that this season was going to be based on. I would say that it was pretty loosely based on that book, but there were parts I liked more in the show than in the book.

In this time of quarantine and new content overload, I caved and subscribed to the newest short-form streaming service, Quibi. A large part of my decision had to do with the fact that I saw some thriller projects featuring Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan…actually, that might have been the only reason. Because even if we all didn’t have an abundant amount of time to spend inside, why would I pay monthly for “shows” that are shorter than some Youtube clips?! It’s seems pretty ridiculous if you ask me. And after finishing one series in just over an hour, I can confirm that it wouldn’t be worth paying for.

After finishing the second season of Barry, all I have to say is this. Watch it! It’s free to stream on the HBO app during this time of quarantine and each season is only eight half hour episodes. So in summary, it’s a very small time commitment for some very rewarding television. You’ll laugh, you’ll tear up, and you will love it.

I feel like a broken record at this point, but Roswell, New Mexico keeps delivering the goods each week! So that means it can’t be helped that I continuously point it out. This week we see the fruits of our scientists labors, as well as some much deserved flashbacks into the tumultuous upbringing of Michael Guerin.
