Now that the second season of the critically acclaimed Severance is almost done airing, I’ve finally gotten around to watching its premiere season. And I gotta say, I’m glad I waited! What a horrible cliffhanger to wait three years on!

Weekend Movie Review:
Similar to the rest of the year, March has been almost equally as inconsistent with my movie viewing. Or maybe I’m just being lazy in my weekly recaps. Anyway, here’s the haul from the first two weekends.
Read moreBook Review: Promise Boys by Nick Brooks
I love a good young adult book from time to time, and what drew me first to Nick Brooks’ Promise Boys, was the stark contrasting cover. In a bright red you see three boys, but then the eyes have been torn out and you can see that they are boys of color. That gives this murder mystery another layer of intrigue.

After the pleasant surprise I got from reading Jeneva Rose’s latest novel, Home Is Where the Bodies Are, I decided to check out the rest of her work and landed on the mysterious sounding You Shouldn’t Have Come Here.

I think as you’ve all come to know, there were a lot of movies in my life this year. 175 to be exact, though unlike other years, there were several repeat viewings this time around! Read moreBook Review: Middle of the Night by Riley Sager
After Riley Sager’s abysmal The House Across the Lake, I kind of have trust issues with him, though his last book and the latest, Middle of the Night, have him squarely back in the same camp as before. Actually, I’d like to think that Sager was able to get just a little bit of the supernatural shoe-horned in here. A compromise I can live with.

Though the name Dead Boys Detectives has a super corny ring to it, that was exactly what brought my attention to this show.
Read moreTrue Detective: Night Country Review
You know, I’ve owned the first season of True Detective since it was released and I’ve still never watched the whole thing. I know it’s the best season out there, and it was basically at the very beginning of the reintroduction of the “golden age of television,” but I just haven’t mustered the desire to finish it yet. And for whatever reason, two bad seasons later I decided to tune in for Night Country.
