Fan Art Friday: Adam Driver

I’ve been a pretty big fan of Adam Driver for quite some time now. Sure, he’s probably most known for his turn as the bad guy Kylo Ren in the latest trio of Star Wars movies, but he’s been in plenty of great indie films and three great turns hosting SNL. If I had to recommend anything to you that he’s in that I’ve seen so far it would be Logan Lucky and Marriage Story. Personally, I’m looking forward to House of Gucci, and there’s another future film of his that’s got me excited for all sorts of reasons I can’t divulge right now, but just be patient. You’ll hear about it soon enough.

Film Independent Spirit Awards

It’s getting down to the wire folks! Usually, the Film Independent Spirit Awards takes place the afternoon before the Oscars, but in this unprecedented time of a pandemic, they switched their usual plan of attack by airing in a prime time slot during the week (a Thursday to be exact). Hey, I don’t care when they air, I promise I’ll be there to watch it. Fan Art Friday: Elizabeth Banks

It was already one in the morning before I realized Friday had already come and gone. Sigh. I swear to you at some point I’ll be more consistent with posting fan art on Fridays. But for now, you just have to deal with me being a day late. There is reason to rejoice though! Early last week I finally finished my drawing of Elizabeth Banks! Saturday Night Live is responsible for many iconic bumpers, but Banks has crystal clear blue eyes that sort of makes it hard for her to take even just a mediocre photo. I loved this one when I saw it when she hosted a few years back, and then I realized that I’d never drawn her before! That’s shameful, given how many things I’ve seen her in. My recommendations from her filmography are Brightburn, Wet Hot American Summer (film and television show), and Love & Mercy!

My Trip to NYC!

Friends! I just got back from the coolest trip I’ve been on since I went to CinemaCon in Las Vegas almost two years ago. It’s been about five years, but I finally headed back to New York to visit one of my oldest friends. And this time I told her we were going to see as many celebrities that we can muster in three days – we succeeded!

Wine Country Movie Review

This weekend I managed to squeeze in a comedy released Friday on Netflix called Wine Country. It stars all your SNL alum favorites: Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, and Emily Spivey. There were some special supporting players with a gruff Tina Fey and a doofie Jason Schwartzman who “came with the house.”
