My next livestream concert experience isn’t until next week, so for now we all get to reminisce about the many times I’ve seen 2000’s emo band Motion City Soundtrack. I know someone is likely to read this and tell me they are pop punk, but you’re wrong. They are all sorts of emotional and have toured with the most emo band on this planet (Hawthorne Heights), therefore they are also emo.

Virginia Film Fest & Netflix’s Rebecca
The film festival magic continues, but this time with an entirely new one! Similar excellent options, although sadly some were relegated strictly to drive-in theaters. Obviously, since I do not live there I cannot attend. Sad. No worry though, because I did get to catch a film I’d had my eye one since the start of the year!

Not much good has come out of this pandemic, so imagine my surprise when something actually awesome happens?! Film Festivals all over the world have either had to cancel or postpone, but now a large handful have caught onto the streaming bug, and this works out magically for me! Usually attended by locals or strictly critics, this change of events has given me an unseen advantage. I, just a lowly film fan, gets to watch potential Oscars films ahead of the masses!

As the pandemic surges on, there are more and more livestream concert events popping up, and with a ton of my favorite artists jumping on board, so am I! Like I said before, I’ll take what I can get. And if that means watching Taking Back Sunday front man, Adam Lazzara tune his own guitar in between songs, then so be it!

It’s been a while since my run with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, so I decided to tackle another long-running comedy that’s been on my bucket list for quite some time. And that show is Workaholics! I’ve seen a lot of things these guys have been in separately, so it was just a matter of time before I got to watch this show. Worth the wait for sure, and that’s only after ten episodes!

My friend has a super sweet book subscription and she is nice enough to share with me, so that means I got to read a sci-fi thriller that I’d never heard of written by someone I’d also never heard of! But this is a good thing. It’s expanded my horizons and if I really didn’t want to read it I would have told her so, but I trust her book judgement. And I was right to! Dark Matter by Blake Crouch was pretty awesome.

Just about at the half-way mark of this season of Fargo and the crazy is picking up even more! I imagine soon we’ll have a big shootout, and at this point I can’t even imagine who the survivors would be.

Ah, after last week’s unusual mediocrity, I have got my film viewings back up to snuff. On the lower end, but considering I did stuff with some people (say what??), the fact that I managed to squeeze these all in is quite the feat.

I’m going to catch Adam Lazzara in a virtual concert tomorrow night, so here’s a drawing I did about a decade ago. Enjoy!

A one-off audiovisual experience from a band I love in a time of quarantine? I’ll take it! Especially if it’s coming from the likes of Glass Animals and off the heels of their most recent release, Dreamland.
