Because I can!!! They formed in 2010 and burned out by 2015, but my goodness they were world dominators. As a full fledged adult when I first heard them, One Direction we’re my musical guilty pleasure for a long time, but getting the chance to see them live and missing them dearly most days means I don’t feel guilty about liking them anymore! Enjoy one of very many drawings.

Book Review: They Don’t Need to Understand by Andy Biersack
This book of stories written by Black Veil Brides front man Andy Biersack, and pal Ryan J. Downey, really had a lot to delve into for someone who really hasn’t spent all that long on this planet. While he claims the passages written were not meant to be a memoir but more like a recounting of his sheer determination of will, it still read like a memoir to me. Either way, this book is a deep dive into the life of Andy Biersack.

It’s been about a decade since I last drew Empire of the Sun and they are still number one on my concert bucket, so I figured they deserved a new drawing. Hopefully they’ll release some new music soon, too!

The Dresden Dolls take me way back to my high school days. Back when bands were cool and creative and carefree. Just like The Dresden Dolls were! Comprising of lead vocalist Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione, The Dresden Dolls’ sound was what I, and many others, would describe as cabaret punk. Hopefully there is some new music in the future, or at least a tour! Go familiarize yourself with “Backstabber” please!

Look, COVID-19 has prevented a lot of cool things from taking place this year, and I imagine it will continue to steam-roll the rest of 2020. This makes me really sad, as I’ve had to miss out on countless concerts and a handful of semi-local conventions. I look forward to these types of events because, if it’s not obvious, I love all things famous! And what better way to hear from, gaze at from afar, or straight up meet in person than at a convention?!

In celebration of the sixth anniversary of Language and Perspective from Bad Suns, here’s a throwback drawing (one of many) that I gifted them at one of their shows. It even made it onto their old website!

Andy Biersack is a local native solo musician and lead singer of Black Veil Brides, who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting before. He’s also absolutely flawless and is therefore a wonderful drawing subject. Since I just finished this up and Black Veil Brides have recently released some new music I figured it was a perfect time to post this!

Since they reunited for a 2020 tour that just passed through my town this week, here’s a drawing of Motion City Soundtrack’s album, Commit This to Memory (arguably, my favorite from them).

This fan art Friday also doubles as a flashback Friday! I guess to clarify, the drawing is a throwback, but my love of One Direction is, and probably always will be, current.
