It’s been about a decade since I last drew Empire of the Sun and they are still number one on my concert bucket, so I figured they deserved a new drawing. Hopefully they’ll release some new music soon, too!

Fan Art Friday: The Dresden Dolls
The Dresden Dolls take me way back to my high school days. Back when bands were cool and creative and carefree. Just like The Dresden Dolls were! Comprising of lead vocalist Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione, The Dresden Dolls’ sound was what I, and many others, would describe as cabaret punk. They were wholly unique in their performances and showed a real passion in what they were producing. Also, they recently got back together! Hopefully there is some new music in the future, or at least a tour! Go familiarize yourself with “Backstabber” please!

Look, COVID-19 has prevented a lot of cool things from taking place this year, and I imagine it will continue to steam-roll the rest of 2020. This makes me really sad, as I’ve had to miss out on countless concerts and a handful of semi-local conventions. I look forward to these types of events because, if it’s not obvious, I love all things famous! And what better way to hear from, gaze at from afar, or straight up meet in person than at a convention?!

Andy Biersack is a local native solo musician and lead singer of Black Veil Brides, who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting before. He’s also absolutely flawless and is therefore a wonderful drawing subject. Since I just finished this up and Black Veil Brides have recently released some new music I figured it was a perfect time to post this!

This fan art Friday also doubles as a flashback Friday! I guess to clarify, the drawing is a throwback, but my love of One Direction is, and probably always will be, current.

It’s time to give some love to one of my favorite bands of all time: Sullivan. I would consider them fairly unknown and that is a damn shame because all three records they’ve released over an hiatus and 15 years is absolutely fantastic! Here’s some throwback mixed media artwork I did back in high school for these guys.
Fan Art Friday: Arcade Fire
In honor of this amazing band’s debut album, Funeral, being released 15 years ago, here they are! Also, I’ve seen them live twice and they are truly fantastic! So you must go if you get the chance!
