This weekend, besides being filled with candy, was also an intense drawing weekend. And with that means I also had the opportunity to binge some new tunes! Fresh in the mail came Cage the Elephant’s fifth EP, titled Social Cues. The radio already had me very fond of their lead single “Ready to Let Go,” and I was starting to warm up to the track collaborating with Beck called “Night Running,” so I was pretty pumped to give the full album a listen.

I know, as someone who watches and reviews movies, I should have higher standards for these films, but I just don’t go in with high expectations. Thinking back to what I’d read in the past year, I remembered how amazing the book All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven was, so I decided to see what else she had in her catalog. With that research, I stumbled upon her 2016 novel, Holding Up the Universe. While not as devastating as All the Bright Places, this book still hit me in my feels.

It’s so hard to believe there are only two episodes left! And that they’re making us wait four weeks to watch them! Sigh. Oh well, here’s what happened on this week’s insane episode of Gotham.
We start with see Eduardo in the lab with Walker and the always ominous Dr. Hugo Strange. They are about to put him through his painful Bane transformation. Uh oh.

As opposed to my other reviews, I promise there will be no spoilers here, so it may be a tad short. I recall back in December when I went to go see Mary, Queen of Scots, that a very creepy trailer that was made creepier by the previously not creepy song “I Got 5 on It” by Luinz was playing. That trailer was for Jordan Peele’s follow up to 2017’s Get Out, called Us. I texted my sister immediately and we’ve been patiently waiting for its release ever since. It was 100% worth the wait!
